Approximately twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, producing strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Substantial Hailstones and Broad Impact

Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
